Personal questions far from being off limits at NBA pre-draft camp

CHICAGO — It is doubtful anyone asked Kansas guard Xavier Henry a question similar to the one Dez Bryant fielded at the NFL combine.
In fact, Henry said the controversy involving Bryant, who was asked whether his mother was a prostitute during an interview with a Miami Dolphins official, was news to him.
“I haven’t heard that,” Henry said. “That’s bad. I take it he didn’t like that.”
That is safe to say.
But asking questions about players’ families is as common at the NBA pre-draft camp as it is at the NFL combine. About 50 players are attending the camp. They are working out and going through interviews with team officials interested in drafting them.
