San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Policing program showing results

A coordinated effort by several city departments is making some of these formally troubled areas more inviting for investors.
As part of the Problem Oriented Policing program, officials from the city’s code compliance, Animal Care Services, public works, solid waste and police departments meet weekly to discuss the problems and develop strategies to tackle the problems.
Together, as members of the Quality of Life Task Force, they are taking back the streets from the bad guys, and statistics prove it.
In recent months, arrests have increased 26 percent and violent crime has dropped 18 percent, the Express-News reports. Property crimes are also down by 13 percent.
More than 230 properties have been secured and cleaned, and 630 dogs have been impounded. Arrests for prostitution and drug charges are also substantially higher.
