SAN ANTONIO — A judge sentenced former San Antonio Police Officer Gregory Mickel, 31, to two years probation Monday. Mickel had earlier plead guilty to charges of official oppression and civil rights violations.
Last June Mickel allegedly picked up a known prostitute on North Cherry Street in an area known for prostitution. According to the woman Mickel agreed to release her in exchange for sex.
In September Mickel plead guilty to both charges. On Monday Judge Raymond Angelini sentenced Mickel to two years probation, fined him $500 and ordered that he pay the victim $436 restitution.
Mickel was also ordered to surrender his peace officers license.
