SAN ANTONIO – Go-go dancers in tiny underwear might be expected at a gentleman’s club. But one mother says she saw it first hand at a local teen club.
She said she is outraged by how much skin she saw at Studio 7, 5455 Evers Road.
“We thought we were at, like, a strip club,” said the mother, who didn’t want to be identified. “We saw little girls dancing in their panties and their bras.”
The tiny tops and the barely-there bottoms are way too mature for a teen nightclub, she said, claiming there was nothing innocent about last Saturday’s rave at Studio 7.
According to a San Antonio police report, a 14-year-old girl was arrested for public intoxication and told police she got alcohol from a friend inside.

… Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich chats with a participant at this past Rock ‘n’ Roll half-marathon in San Antonio.
• Is this Spurs’ Tony Parker new squeeze he took to the BNP Paribas’ Tennis Masters Final?• Manu Ginobili spoke on the progress of a new stadium being proposed in Argentina and talked about his kids.
• Express News’ Tim Griffin gives a healthy scoop of NBA player’s Twitter reactions to today’s news the lockout might have ended the NBA season.
• Pounding the Rock has a funny photo of Manu detailing the complex world of the BRI.
• If there is any silver-lining in the possible canceled NBA season is the fact the women of the gentleman’s club Rick Cabaret will be hooping throughout the lockout. And by hooping I mean women running up and down the court in next to nothing.

San Antonio Strip Clubs: Music-astute Northside club aspires to be more than just another strip venue

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011

In October, Endless hosted Houston rapper Z-Ro and finalists for the Texas You Be the Star karaoke contest. At these events, there were no exotic dancers, just locals enjoying drinks, entertainment, and buffet food. Carrasco said there are enough regular strip clubs in San Antonio. He’s trying to book bands every weekend — including pop metal rockers Drive and country legend Dwight Yoakam — and hold classic burlesque evenings on Wednesdays. The non-special-event days will be when Stone Oak, Bulverde, and Encino residents can kick back a beverage and take in the scenery. In other words, Carrasco wants Endless to be a variety act for everyone.

I agreed. The abundant TVs featured ESPN and a cable broadcast of Hoosiers. It wasn’t deafeningly loud either and dancers weren’t doing hardsells on attendees. Most importantly, there wasn’t the primal sadness of some strip clubs clogging the air. Even if Endless Music doesn’t evolve into the all-audiences variety act it aspires to be, Northsiders at least now have a clean, well-lit place to soak up some suds and sights. •

Sex Trafficking Victims Blur Line Between Victim, Criminal
POSTED: Tuesday, November 8, 2011
SAN ANTONIO — A recent runaway who asked to be identified as Nina turned to strip clubs to pay the rent at 17.
She was hand-picked by a man who claimed to be an investor and convinced to move to Las Vegas.
“The opportunity to make a lot more money was huge,” Nina said.
She stripped, she said, working 12-hour shifts, seven days a week. She remembers turning over a couple thousand dollars daily to the man she would eventually refer to as the devil.
After two months, he raised the stakes, asking her to sell her body for sex.
“I literally sold my soul to the devil when it came to him,” Nina said.

San Antonio Strip Clubs: Police Chase Ends With Suspect Shot In Face

Monday, November 7th, 2011

When officers approached the car to make an arrest, they made an unexpected discovery. The person in that car, 18-year-old Luis Adrian Galvan, had been shot in the face with his own gun.
“We know that the shotgun went off, but we don’t know if he hit that trigger purposely,” said Benavidez. “It’s unclear on whether the shotgun went off as he was trying to evade officers and it bounced around the cab of the vehicle or if he accidentally tried to grab that weapon and it went off.”
Police are still trying to determine what led to the initial shooting. They said Galvan had been seen at the strip club earlier in the morning, trying to sell his car and a computer. However, due to his condition, they were only able to get limited information from witnesses.

San Antonio Escorts: Texas bishop on immigration, violence, battle for the 11-year-old’s soul

Friday, November 4th, 2011

If our younger children do not find the right place to belong in the wider community of the parish, they will easily find themselves invited to belong to a gang or a cartel. We have to do much better at teaching this younger demographic about the beauty and nobility of a call to goodness and holiness. The lives of Saints can be powerful in this aspect of youth formation. If someone had not told me about the life of Maximilian Kolbe when I was starting high school, and handed me a book about him, I doubt I would be here today.
“There is a temptation for some to say ‘arrest all the undocumented, and deport them all,’” he said, turning to the topic of immigration laws. “There is a moral distinction we as a civilized people should maintain: someone who overstays a tourist visa out of fear for their life is not in the same category as someone who is running a prostitution ring in the Valley to support the drug trade.”
