San Antonio Strip Clubs: Kendall County dealing with increased copper thefts

Saturday, December 10th, 2011

Deputies arrested 54-year-old Gilbert Arenas and 36-year-old Jacob Johnson on Monday.Prichard said the suspects were posing as a work crew but were caught in the act by a real work crew that showed up at the cell tower.
“The suspects went as far as to put on like a traffic vest to look more official to look like they belong,” Prichard said. “After they saw the bolt cutters and some of the other tools they were using they realized something wasn’t right and they called the Sheriff’s office.”
Investigators used a statewide database of scrap metal sales to track the suspects.
The database revealed Arenas had sold $14,000 worth of copper this year.
In addition to catching the suspects with the typical tools of the trade like wire cutters and strippers, investigators also came across something that hadn’t seen before, a high voltage detector.

Battle over nudity law back in court Fourth Court of Appeals to decide if city ordinance should be upheld Author: Eileen Gonzales, egonzales@ksat.com Published On: Wed Dec 07 15:32:44 CST 2011

SAN ANTONIO -
Nude and partially nude stripping are not allowed in the city limits, but if some entertainment club owners have their way, the city would be stripped of that rule.
“If the ordinance is struck down, it means that nude dancing can return to the city of San Antonio,” Jim Deegear, an attorney representing strip club owners, said. “As a matter of fact, it means for all of us, I suppose, that we’ll have great rights to appear in the nude as long as we’re careful if there’s not another present who might be offended by that.”

San Antonio Strip Clubs: Reliance on high-tech and high-turnover leading to lawsuits in ‘hospitalist …

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

The company’s executives are well-regarded in the medical community. In October, the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Medical Practice Executives named Dr. David Bowman, executive director of IPC’s Tucson, Ariz., office, as “Physician Executive of the Year” for 2011. Dr. Singer, IPC’s CEO, won the same award in 2010. Bowman also received special kudos for triaging U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and six victims shot by a gunman in a Tucson parking lot in January.
The stock price has doubled since 2008, when it raised $148 million in its initial public offering. IPC’s decision to go public during the recession turned out to be a clever strategy. Health care stocks, which typically perform well during recession, were up nearly 15 percent this year, leading the S&P’s 10 sectors.
For tech-loving venture capitalists and NASDAQ traders, IPC and its software offer an ingenious business model that corporatizes the patient-doctor relationship with a payout pipeline from Medicare and private insurance to Wall Street. With no apparent major capital expenses or debt, IPC appears to be pulling in cash faster than a strip club in a South Texas oil town on payday.

San Antonio Strip Clubs: DMX Plays Basketball in Wheelchair with Injured Troops

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

DMX joined the troops in a wheelchair to play basketball after he was invited by a fan to visit the military base where he spent a full day interacting with injured vets. “It made my day as much as it did their day. One told me that I gave him the best early Christmas gift he ever got and that has me still smiling,” said DMX.
The rapper has been volunteering his time since he announced that he kicked his cocaine addiction back in October following his release from Arizona state prison where he served an eight month sentence for violating probation by consuming alcohol.
In November, the rapper showed that he was set on turning around his life by performing a number of good deeds. Following a Halloween party at a strip club, the rapper stopped into a Waffle House where he took over a fan’s floor mopping duties. Shortly after the late night mopping, DMX was spotted vacuuming a South Carolina night club and described the experience as “rewarding.” Check out the video below courtesy of TMZ.

San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Experts: Child sex trafficking a very real issue in San Antonio

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

Kids as young as 12 years old are being sold to what Smith referred to as “the typical common man.”
It’s happening across the country. It’s happening in San Antonio.
“Unfortunately there is a demand for it,” said Chris Burchell of the Texas Anti-Trafficking Organization. “They’re working online, they’re working in truck stops.”
In some cases, children are even sold by their own families.
UTSA professor Robert Ambrosino spent several months with 23 of his students producing a domestic sex trafficking documentary called “Behind Closed Doors.” Those interviewed said they were sold in San Antonio when they were only children.
“The people we interviewed had been trafficked by their parents,” Ambrosino said.
Although Texas laws are getting tougher at defining prostitution and sex trafficking, Linda Smith said there are still big gaps nationwide. She said other states will hopefully follow suit and also crack down hard on domestic sex trafficking.
