San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Latina FBI professional comforts victims

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

The FBI is comprised of two elements, the federal agents and the professionalsupport staff. I’m in the latter category.” (Editor’s Note: This means she does notcarry a gun and, yes, a lot of people – like me — ask).
In her FBI role, Rodriguez functions as a victim advocate. The agents do the investigation and then the Victim Specialists work with individual and family victims of crimes. So her varied experiences in; social work; victims’ advocacy; crisis intervention; human and social services community outreach and networking, made her an excellentcandidate for this position.
What types of crimes does she deal with? She said: “I cover a fairly extensive gamut, including: white collar crimes; investment fraud; mortgage fraud; healthcare fraud;
cybercrimes ; Internet schemes; Internet enticement; violent crimes; prostitution; crimes against children; parental kidnappings, etc.”

San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Ex-Spur hauled back to jail

Saturday, August 14th, 2010

If Robertson is released from jail on the increased bail, he will be restricted to full house arrest, the judge decided. He already wears an ankle monitor.
Defense attorney Jimmy Parks Jr. said Friday that he was surprised by the order. He hadn’t been aware of the allegations, he said, adding that they must be the result of a misunderstanding.
“We’re going to do everything we can to get it worked out,” he said. “It just surprises me because he’s been working so well, trying to be a productive member of society.”
Authorities have alleged, among other things, that Robertson was one of seven people who forced a 14-year-old into prostitution in Corpus Christi and San Antonio last year. He was arrested on the charge in February while in Bentonville, Ark., for a basketball clinic.

San Antonio Adult Entertainment: CD Reviews: Black Label Society, Trace Adkins, John Mellencamp, Bun B, Mark Olson

Tuesday, August 10th, 2010

From the first song, it’s evident that he has come to claim his spot among hip-hop’s elite. The thunderous guitar- and organ-laden, “Chuuch!,” followed by the Auto-Tuned wails of T-Pain on “Trillionaire” and the Young Jeezy-assisted “Just Like That,” form a knockout punch.
By the time you get to the fourth track, “Put It Down,” featuring superstar of the moment Drake, you’re ready to anoint the CD certified classic status.
Not so fast. Although “Trill O.G” is as well-balanced and textured an album as you’ll hear all year, there are moments like “Right Now,” featuring posthumous raps from Pimp C and Tupac Shakur, that sound better on paper than in your iPod. “Countin’ Money” isn’t bad as much as it is derivative of every other requisite “I get money” hip-hop song.

San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Dez Bryant agrees on terms of deal with Cowboys

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

… This was very important to me to be able to get this done in time for the first practice,” Bryant said in a statement released by the team. “I want to help this team. I want to compete. I can’t wait to start playing football again.”
Bryant played only three games for Oklahoma State last season, then was dogged by all sorts of questions about his integrity, starting with an NCAA suspension for lying to investigators about a meeting with former Cowboys star Deion Sanders.
There was talk of him skipping meetings and classes, and being late to games. There were concerns about his mother’s private life, enough that Miami Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland asked if she ever was a prostitute. After he skipped the NFL combine and held his own pro day, there were whispers that he forgot to bring the right cleats.

San Antonio Adult Entertainment: Ex-SAHA manager’s trial ends with mistrial, not guilty verdict

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Manibog acknowledged meeting with Caro, owner of Montemayor General Contracting, at a Home Depot parking lot and at two other locations in 2008. San Antonio Housing Authority records show Manibog steered $139,000 in contracts to Caro during that same time period.
But any references to payments were jokes or misunderstandings caused in part by Caro’s broken English, he said. Prosecutors acknowledged that the sound quality of the hidden recordings was “terrible.”
“I wouldn’t take a bribe,” Manibog told jurors. Caro, he said, “never handed me anything.”
Five maintenance division employees were indicted and fired last summer following a three-year investigation. Investigators said contractors were able to secure SAHA jobs by taking agency employees to strip clubs, buying them gifts and doing free or discounted work at their homes. They were also bribed with cash, authorities said.
